Varsity vs GRAND HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL All Offense In Spring Lake Varsity Lakers Loss Against Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers By GameChanger Media Bats were blistered on Tuesday, but Spring Lake Varsity Lakers couldn't quite get the job done against Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers and lost 19-11. Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers collected 22 hits, while Spring Lake Varsity Lakers had 13. Khloe Siler drove in five runners in the loss. The catcher went 2-5 on the day. Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Makenna VandenBrink doubled, scoring one run, Bri Borgman doubled, scoring one run, Ryley Jeltema doubled, scoring one run, Claire Sova singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. A home run to center field by Borgman, and a single by Abby Frank helped Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers extend their early lead in the second. A single by Jeltema extended the Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers lead to 11-2 in the top of the third inning. Siler hit a grand slam to center field in the bottom of the seventh for the Spring Lake Varsity Lakers. Frank earned the win for Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers. The righty allowed 13 hits and 11 runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. Ava Twa took the loss for Spring Lake Varsity Lakers. The right-handed pitcher went seven innings, surrendering 19 runs (13 earned) on 22 hits, striking out four and walking two. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers amassed 13 hits in the game. Raelyn Stratton and Paige Scholtens each collected three hits for Spring Lake Varsity Lakers. Tessa Britt collected two hits for Spring Lake Varsity Lakers in four at bats.
