Khloe Siler Drives 5 Runners Home In Spring Lake Varsity Lakers Victory Over Grand Rapids Christian Eagles By GameChanger Media Khloe Siler drove in five runs on four hits to lead Spring Lake Varsity Lakers past Grand Rapids Christian Eagles 20-16 on Friday. Siler hit a home run to center field in the third inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring one. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Spring Lake Varsity Lakers collected 17 hits and Grand Rapids Christian Eagles 18 in the high-scoring affair. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Siler singled, scoring one run, Ava Twa singled, scoring one run, Cheyenne Lyons singled, scoring two runs, and Paige Scholtens doubled, scoring one run. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers added one run in the second after Grand Rapids Christian Eagles committed an error. Grand Rapids Christian Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a ground out by Greta Holman, a double by Jaslene McWilliams, a single by Karina Mora, and a double by Maren Leech. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 11-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Siler that drove in three. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers added to their lead with three runs in the top of the fourth inning thanks to home runs by Abby Lau and Tessa Britt. Grand Rapids Christian Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to center field by Keira Porte. Grand Rapids Christian Eagles scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Alexis Willis doubled, scoring one run, Addie Rodenhouse singled, scoring two runs, McWilliams singled, scoring two runs, and Mora grounded out, scoring one run. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 20-15. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Abby Geyer that drove in two. Twa earned the win for Spring Lake Varsity Lakers. The reliever allowed four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Reese Mersman took the loss for Grand Rapids Christian Eagles. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on three hits, striking out one and walking four. Siler started in the circle for Spring Lake Varsity Lakers. The righty surrendered 14 hits and 13 runs (10 earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking five. Rae Cummings started the game for Grand Rapids Christian Eagles. The starting pitcher gave up 14 hits and 14 runs (12 earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers amassed 17 hits in the game. Twa, Raelyn Stratton, Lau, and Lyons each collected multiple hits for Spring Lake Varsity Lakers. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Anna Bonney and Lyons led the team with two walks each. Siler and Lau each stole multiple bases for Spring Lake Varsity Lakers. Spring Lake Varsity Lakers stole seven bases in the game. Grand Rapids Christian Eagles collected 18 hits in the game. McWilliams drove the middle of the lineup, leading Grand Rapids Christian Eagles with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 4-for-5 on the day. Willis, Mora, Holman, Cummings, and Rodenhouse each collected multiple hits for Grand Rapids Christian Eagles. Ellie VandeGriend led Grand Rapids Christian Eagles with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.
