On senior night and the final home game of the year, the home team Lakers fell one point short in a 49-48 loss to Holland Christian. A Close game throughout, where no team led by more than four points. Spring Lake had one last chance for the win when Holland Christian missed two free throws with 8 seconds to go but the Lakers last second shot bounced off the front of the rim at the buzzer. Jaden Core led the Spring Lake offense with 18 points 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists, followed by Reid Grimmer who had 11 points and 6 rebounds. Sam Bajt chipped in with 9 points. Coach Core credited the defense of Evan Wahl, Sam Bajt and Landon O'Donnell on Holland Christian's leading scorer holding him to 13 points below his average. The five seniors playing in their final home game tonight were Jaden Core, Reid Grimmer, Sam Bajt, Evan Wahl and Ethan Lisman. "I was really hoping we could pull this one out tonight for those seniors! We still have a lot of basketball left, but to finish your senior year with a win on a Friday night home game would have been special!
