Lakers win Big on Senior Night

In an electrifying Senior Night match, the Spring Lake varsity volleyball team earned a memorable victory over Zeeland West, closing the regular season with a 25-19, 17-25, 25-16, 25-14 win. The Lakers’ record improved to 9-20 overall and 4-8 in conference play, setting a positive tone as they head into districts. Senior Aliya Williams had an exceptional night, recording 16 kills and setting a new school record for hitting efficiency in a four-set match. With just one error on 23 attempts, she achieved an impressive .653 efficiency, setting the tone for the Lakers' standout third and fourth sets. Brooke St. George added 8 aces to bolster the team's performance, while Peyton Hein led with 15 assists and Audrey Marine contributed 13. Reflecting on the match, the coach shared, “We finally played two complete sets tonight in sets three and four. Players were focused, serving was tough, and errors were few. A great win to go into districts with.” Spring Lake will kick off their district run on Tuesday, November 5, facing Oakridge in the first round at Orchard View at 7:00 p.m.
