The Spring Lake High School boys' cross country team delivered solid performances at the 2024 Coach Mel Hall Memorial Invitational. Several seniors led the way for the Lakers, while a handful of runners set new personal or season records. Senior Jack Pummill was the top 12th-grade finisher for Spring Lake, crossing the line in 55th place with a time of 20:07.37. Fellow senior Garrett Abel followed closely behind, securing 59th place with a time of 20:25.25. Both seniors contributed valuable leadership and effort in the race, setting an example for their younger teammates. Among the day's personal record (PR) achievements was freshman Logan Franklyn, who clocked in at 18:52.30, a new best for the season. Sophomore Hunter Stark also set a new PR with a time of 21:23.55. In addition, sophomore Liam Lockard earned a season record (SR), completing the course in 22:58.95. The Lakers will look to build on these performances as they head into the postseason, with their next meet at the regional championships this Friday at Benzie Central High School.
