Varsity Volleyball sweeps Holland on the road

The Spring Lake varsity volleyball team secured a dominant victory over Holland High School, winning in straight sets: 25-17, 25-16, and 25-15. The Lakers improved their overall record to 8-18, with a 3-7 mark in conference play. Katherine Penning led the team with 10 kills, while Aliya Williams, Brianna Kirby, and Brooke St. George each contributed 7. Peyton Hein served up 5 aces and added 13 assists, while Audrey Marine tallied 21 assists. Lauren Nicles anchored the defense with 12 digs, supported by Madeline Meigs with 10. After falling behind 1-8 in the first set, Spring Lake rallied and played cohesively as a team. "We finally put three sets together for a victory," said the coach. "Our net play is improving with every match, and tonight was evidence of that." The Lakers will be back in action on Tuesday, October 22, with an away match against Holland Christian at 6:00 p.m.
