The Spring Lake boys soccer team kicked off their playoff run with a commanding 4-0 win over Kenowa Hills, fueled by a hat-trick performance from Chandler Noorman and a stellar defensive effort. Noorman opened the scoring with 20:48 left in the first half, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from Emmit Gzym. Just minutes later, senior Anderson Keaney doubled the lead with 17:16 remaining, once again off an assist from Gzym, putting the Lakers firmly in control going into halftime. The second half saw Noorman continue his scoring surge. He netted his second goal with 27:54 remaining, cleaning up a rebound in front of the net, and sealed the hat trick with 16:43 left in the match, once again set up by Gzym’s playmaking. On the defensive end, the Lakers were unyielding, with standout performances from Sam Bajt, Nolan Oosting, Drew Borg, Will Mastenbrook, Gus Sayen, and Kyler Dillon. Their efforts kept Kenowa Hills from gaining any traction, allowing Spring Lake to secure the shutout. With the win, Spring Lake advances to the district semifinals, where they will face off against Fruitport High School at Fruitport on Tuesday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m.
