Laker tennis takes down Ludington, 6-2

The Spring Lake boys varsity tennis team secured a strong 6-2 victory over Ludington High School, demonstrating impressive depth across both singles and doubles matches. In singles action, Veer Patel delivered a standout performance at No. 2 singles, rallying to win 2-6, 6-2, 10-2 after dropping the first set. At No. 4 singles, Alex Dull showed resilience in a tight battle, overcoming a second-set loss to claim the match 7-5, 1-6, 10-3. Hudson Braak at No. 1 singles put up a tough fight but ultimately fell to Ludington’s Oliver Kolb in a marathon 2-6, 6-4, 12-10 match. Ludington’s Tyler Keillor also secured a win at No. 3 singles over Spring Lake’s Nate Pawlak, 6-0, 6-2. Spring Lake dominated in doubles, with all four pairs securing victories. The No. 1 team of Kody Vis and Owen Malaski won a tight first set before pulling away for a 7-6 (2), 6-2 victory. The No. 2 duo of Drew Nash and Hale Phillips cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win. At No. 3, Ethan and Eddie Brown took their match 6-3, 6-2, while the No. 4 pair of Weston Carpenter and James Priddy won a competitive match 7-6 (5), 6-2. This victory reflects the continued progress and depth of the Spring Lake tennis program as they look forward to upcoming challenges.
