Volleyball battles back from down two sets to win in five

The Spring Lake varsity volleyball team pulled off a thrilling reverse sweep over Zeeland West, coming back from two sets down to win in five sets: 21-25, 25-27, 25-19, 25-23, and 15-11. The victory boosts the Lakers’ overall record to 6-15 and improves their conference record to 2-4. After a slow start, Spring Lake made key lineup adjustments that helped spark their comeback. Katherine Penning led the charge with 14 kills, while Madeline Meigs added 10, both delivering crucial points in the final sets. Peyton Hein contributed 25 assists, with Audrey Marine chipping in 15. Lauren Nicles was outstanding on defense, recording 28 digs, and Aliya Williams was a force at the net with 8 blocks. With momentum building, the Lakers look forward to their next match on Thursday, October 3, when they will travel to face Hudsonville Unity at 6:00 p.m.
