Spring Lake Boys Soccer Wins Final Home Game with Strong Second Half The Spring Lake boys soccer team secured a 3-1 victory over Zeeland East in their final regular-season home game, thanks to a flurry of second-half goals and a stellar defensive effort. The game remained scoreless until the second half when junior Vaughn White broke through, scoring with 33:29 left on the clock. Senior Anderson Keaney set up the play, delivering a perfect assist to put the Lakers ahead. Just over ten minutes later, Ben Bisacky added to the lead, finding the net with 22:26 remaining, again assisted by Keaney. The Lakers put the game out of reach with 5:10 left in regulation, when senior Nick Sheridan scored the team’s third goal off an assist from Emmit Gzym. Zeeland East managed to pull one back late, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Spring Lake momentum. Defensively, the Lakers shined, limiting Zeeland East's chances. Senior Sam Bajt, along with juniors Drew Borg and Nolan Oosting, anchored a backline that stifled the opposing offense, leaving goalkeeper Ryan Fine with just six saves to make on the night. With the win, the Lakers set the stage for their first-round playoff match at home against Kenowa Hills on Wednesday, October 9, at 6 p.m.
