Girls cross country runs fourth place finish at league jamboree

The Spring Lake girls cross country team secured a strong fourth-place finish at the second of three OK Black jamborees, showcasing both seasoned and emerging talent. Leading the way was junior Alexis Kotkowicz, who placed seventh with a time of 19:39.79, followed closely by freshman standout Kaleigh Clark in ninth place in a time of 19:50.73. Senior Lexie Ruffing achieved a season-best time of 20:35.58 for 19th, while sophomore Cora Parker (20:50.45) and senior Bethany Zimmerman (21:02.60, SR) rounded out the team’s top five in 21st and 23rd place, respectively. Freshman Briella Kohley delivered a personal best of 21:10.06 for 26th, continuing her promising debut season. Other noteworthy performances included senior Kaitlyn Zonca finishing 40th with a time of 21:54.95, sophomore Shannon Losee’s season-best of 22:13.69 in 46th, and junior Karis Locke’s all-time personal best of 23:54.90 in 77th place. Many Spring Lake runners set new personal or season records, adding to the team’s depth as they gear up for the final league jamboree.
