Laker Tennis wins big on Senior Night

The Spring Lake varsity boys tennis team delivered an impressive performance in their matchup against Holland High School, claiming a 7-1 victory. The Lakers showcased their depth and resilience across both singles and doubles matches. In singles play, Hudson Braak set the tone with a decisive win at No. 1, defeating Holland’s Floyd Webb 6-1, 6-4. Veer Patel followed up at No. 2, securing a solid 6-2, 6-3 victory over Ethan Byrd. At No. 3 singles, Nate Pawlak battled through a tough three-set match to overcome Christian Ramirez 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. Rounding out the singles lineup, Alex Dull dominated at No. 4, cruising past Peyton Lehman 6-1, 6-1. The doubles teams also shined, with Spring Lake winning three out of four matches. Kody Vis and Owen Malaski led the way at No. 1 doubles, securing a 6-4, 7-5 victory. Drew Nash and Hale Phillips mounted a thrilling comeback at No. 2 doubles, taking the win 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. The No. 3 team of Ethan and Eddie Brown also fought hard to claim a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win. While Spring Lake nearly swept the match, Holland’s Mason Hart and Josiah VanFarowe managed to edge out a win at No. 4 doubles, defeating Weston Carpenter and James Priddy 6-2, 6-4. Spring Lake’s victory over Holland was a testament to the team's depth and determination, as they continue to build momentum in their season.
