Boys cross country finishes sixth at first league jamboree

The Spring Lake boys cross country team placed sixth in the first OK Black Division jamboree of the season, held at Unity Christian. Senior Parker Woodwyk led the way for the Lakers, finishing 9th overall with a time of 17:26.40. Fellow senior Nathan Koches followed in 21st place, crossing the line at 18:12.45, while senior Christopher Locke claimed 27th with a time of 18:25.96. Junior Lukus Mendoza and freshman Isaac Vandlen rounded out the top five for Spring Lake, placing 39th and 40th with times of 19:13.81 and 19:15.69, respectively, contributing to the team's strong overall finish. Additional solid performances came from senior Isaac Primm, who finished 43rd at 19:24.42, and junior Jayden Quist, who clocked in at 19:36.45 for 46th place. Freshman Liam Tiles (20:27.83) and junior Levi Vanderlaan (20:35.19) also contributed to the team's depth, while freshman Logan Franklyn posted a time of 20:36.77. Several other Lakers, including sophomore Hunter Stark, who recorded a personal record of 22:50.20, showcased the team's commitment and progress. The Lakers will look to build on this performance as the season continues.
