The Spring Lake varsity girls’ volleyball team secured a commanding three-set victory over Holland High School, winning 25-13, 25-21, and 25-16. The win improves the Lakers’ overall record to 3-10 and 1-2 in conference play. Despite the comfortable scorelines, Spring Lake head coach noted that unforced errors remain a concern, but praised Holland’s scrappy defensive effort that made it challenging to close out points. Katherine Penning delivered a standout performance with 13 kills and 4 aces, while Lauren Meigs added 9 kills. Peyton Hein orchestrated the offense with 28 assists, contributing to the Lakers' balanced attack. Defensively, Penning, Brianna Kirby, and Hein each tallied 8 digs, with Madeline Meigs and Aliya Williams recording one block apiece. Spring Lake will face a tough challenge in their next match on Thursday, September 19, when they host 10th-ranked Holland Christian.
