Spring Lake Girls Varsity Golf Team Finishes Runner-Up at NextTee Golf Invitational

The Spring Lake girls varsity golf team delivered another strong performance at the NextTee Golf Invitational, finishing just three strokes behind Grand Rapids Catholic Central to claim the runner-up position at Bedford Valley. The close contest highlighted the Lakers’ competitive spirit, with standout individual efforts propelling them to a near victory in a highly contested field. Leading the way for Spring Lake was senior Zoe Dull, who shot an impressive 73 (+1), securing 2nd place overall. Dull’s precision and consistency on the course continue to be pivotal for the Lakers, as she once again posted one of the top individual scores in the tournament. Junior Finlay Cousineau also delivered a strong showing, finishing 6th overall with a round of 80 (+8). Her solid play provided critical support in the team's push for the title. Sophomore Reagan Bennett added a round of 93 (+21) to the team’s score, finishing in 31st place, while junior Casey Ireland contributed a 97 (+25), finishing 38th. Rounding out the Lakers' scores was junior Ellie Cavalier, who posted a 100 (+28) and finished in 43rd place. Despite the narrow three-stroke loss to Grand Rapids Catholic Central, the Lakers once again demonstrated their depth and ability to compete against top teams. Each player's contribution was crucial, and the team’s collective effort nearly brought home another victory. Spring Lake’s runner-up finish at the NextTee Golf Invitational adds to an already impressive season as they continue to push for top finishes in every tournament. With their consistent play and determined performances, the Lakers remain a formidable force as the season progresses.
