Boys Tennis ties the Zeeland East Chix, 4-4

The Spring Lake High School boys varsity tennis team battled to a hard-fought 4-4 tie against the Zeeland East Chix in a competitive match. The singles matchups were tightly contested, with Spring Lake’s Veer Patel and Nate Pawlak earning critical victories. Patel overcame Charlie Reese in a thrilling comeback, 2-6, 6-0, 6-4, while Pawlak edged out Daniel Steenwyk in a three-set battle, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1. Despite these efforts, Zeeland East’s Brady Schanski and Seth VanTimmeren claimed wins at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, defeating Hudson Braak and Alex Dull, respectively. The doubles matches mirrored the singles intensity, with Spring Lake winning two of the four contests. The duo of Kody Vis and Owen Malaski secured a strong win at No. 1 doubles, defeating Jailen Nesbitt and Andrew Colasanti in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. At No. 3 doubles, Eddie Brown and Luke Roller earned a decisive 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 victory over Cam Volkers and Payton Ott. However, Zeeland East managed to even the score with wins at No. 2 and No. 4 doubles, highlighted by a close match at No. 2, where Reed Koleszar and Easton Beukema outlasted Drew Nash and Hale Phillips, 7-6 (10), 3-6, 6-2. The overall tie reflected the well-matched competition between the two teams.
