On a crisp autumn morning at the Meadows, the Spring Lake High School varsity girls golf team showcased their talent and tenacity at the Forest Hills Central Ranger Invitational. Facing off against ten competitive teams, the Lakers came within a single stroke of victory, finishing in a commendable second place. The team’s collective grit and skill were on full display, with each player contributing to a strong overall performance. The near-victory was a testament to their hard work and determination throughout the early season. Leading the charge was Zoe Dull, whose outstanding play earned her the tournament championship with a stellar score of 75. Junior Finlay Cousineau also made a significant impact, finishing in the top five with a score of 82. Her steady play was crucial in keeping the Lakers in close contention. While the final tally left them just short of first place, the sense of accomplishment was palpable. The team’s second-place finish was celebrated as a major achievement, reflecting their dedication and unity.
