In the District Championship game, catcher Owen Smies hit his third homerun of the year which was a solo shot in the bottom of the second inning to give Spring Lake a lead they would never relinquish. In the third inning Gabe Trask scored from second base on a wild pitch giving the Lakers a 2-0 lead. Jaden Core added a two run single pushing the Spring Lake lead to 4-0. Coopersville scored their only run of the game in the sixth and Spring Lake pitcher Zane Stahl (7-2) closed the door as the Lakers hoisted their second straight District Title. Stahl threw a complete game gem, scattering 4 hits and striking out eleven.
