Huge game for the Lakers tonight. We prepped well for this game and went in ready to play our best soccer. The girls fought through some personnel changes up top due to unforeseen circumstances, and still brought great soccer to Unity. After not coming away with a win on their field for a few years, we were happy with how we played tonight. We were so proud of the way the girls battled. We went in with a great game plan, and they executed it so well. Our defense played well, both of our keepers (Jessica Stewart and Ava Nardin) came up with huge saves tonight to keep the ball out of our net. Our mids battled for the ball tonight and were able to find great feet and gaps through their D to play through tonight. Although we would have loved to put away a few more of our shots tonight, we were so proud of the girls for their work tonight. Our goal tonight came from Ella Andree with 27 min left in the first half. A well placed shot to a far corner under pressure. Assist coming off a beautiful ball from Clara Saunders.
