Varsity vs Howell High School (14 - 1) Win The Lakers hosted the Highlanders from Howell this afternoon. The Lakers jumped out to a 7-0 halftime lead and followed that up with a 7-1 second half to take care of business 14-1 today at the Yard. The defense led by captain Garrett VanSingel, Cam Gates and Ryan Fisher kept the Highlanders under check all with with Hale Phillps (3 quarters) and Matt Pruitt (1 quarter) in the cage. Offensively the Lakers were rolling with a great offensive day led by Landon O'Donnell (5 goals), Sam Schafer (2 goals), Gage Isard (2 goals, 1 assist), CR Holmes (2 goals, 1 assist), Cash Holmes (1 goal, 1 assist), Stockton Murphy (1 goal), Harry Fogg (1 goal). Oscar Anderson, Wren Dephouse and Nathan Tierman won 16 of 18 faceoffs controlling possessions for the Lakers. The win takes the Lakers to 6-4 on the season. Next up for the Lakers will be hosting Byron Center for an O-K conference matchup on Tuesday.
