In their season opener, the home team Lakers scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game 4-4 and then blew the game open scoring six more times in the bottom of the fifth inning and held on for a 10-7 victory. Gabe Trask led the Spring Lake offense with 4 hits and 2 RBI's while Maddux Kipling added two hits. Trask, Kipling, Oliver Smies and Alex Batka each scored two runs in the win. Zane Stahl 5 1/3 IP (1-0) got the win scattering 4 hits and striking out three.
