The girls worked hard tonight as we faced a very talented JV team from Rockford for our first game. I was super proud of our efforts as we work towards a newer formation and have only been together for 3 days. Our defense came out so strong, and held their line the entire game - Rockford's goal came late in the second half and was a great shot from distance. Our center mids worked so hard tonight as well, and I was proud of their play going both directions. Our MVP tonight was Ava Nardin, our goalkeeper, who made some saves that kept us in the game. She stopped multiple breakaways, and was great in the air for us as well. Looking forward to a strong season, and thankful to face a talented, fast team this early on.
