Spring Lake Girls Varsity vs FREMONT (58 - 29) Win Spring Lake Girls advanced to the Regional Finals for the first time in program history after a 58-29 semifinal victory over Fremont.  This year is the 7th time a Spring Lake girls basketball team advanced to a regional, but the first time they advanced to the final game. After a 2-2 stalemate for the first 4 minutes of the game, Spring Lake got several transition breakaways to go on a 13-0 run to end the first quarter.  Spring Lake extended their lead to a 31-12 halftime margin.  After a close 3rd quarter, Spring Lake pulled away for good with a 20 point 4th quarter to cruise to the victory. Spring Lake's balanced attack was led by Alexa Carter's double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  Ellia Wrona had 12 points, Ella Andree had 11 points, and Nia Theune added 7 points.  Brooke Bolthouse and Bethany Zimmerman each had 4 points, while Clara Saunders and Lauren Nicles chipped in 2 points apiece. Fremont finished their season at 20-5 overall and were led by Taylor DeKuiper with 9 points and Jessica Bennett with 7 points. Spring Lake 18-6 overall advances to play GR West Catholic (24-1) in the Regional Final at Sparta High School on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 PM.
