The Spring Lake Lakers season came to an end in the Regional Championship at the hands of the GR Catholic Central Cougars, 62-43. This was the fifth time in school history that a Spring Lake team has reached the Regional Championship game, advancing twice to the Quarterfinals (2017, 2015). The Lakers did not have an answer for Michigan commit and Mr. Basketball Finalist, Durral Brooks as he scored 21 points followed by Ferris State commit Carter Meerman with 17. Eli Morrison led the Spring Lake offense with 17 points nailing five three pointers. Karson George chipped in with 10. Spring Lake will lose six seniors to graduation that Coach Bill Core credits their leadership for holding the team together through a season of adversity, tough losses and injuries. A huge THANK YOU to Liam Zandstra, Colin Burt, Wren Dephouse, Karson George and three year starters, Eli Morrison and Zach Schlepp. The Lakers will finish their season with a 14-13 record and back to back District Championships.
