The Spring Lake Lakers will advance to the Division 2 District 42 Semifinal at Orchard View High School Wednesday night, with a 57-32 victory over the Montague Wildcats. The Lakers got out to an early lead and never looked back after hitting seven first half three pointers. Eli Morrison led the Spring Lake scoring attack with 18 points followed by Ayden Ayers with 9 and Zach Schlepp who finished with 7 points and 8 rebounds. Ten different Lakers got into the scoring column. Jaden Core added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists on the night. Coach Core gave a shout out to the defensive efforts of Wren Dephouse and Colin Burt who defended the one-two scoring punch of Montague's top two scorers (Owen Raeth 10 points and Isaiah Atchison 3 points). Spring Lake will now take on the undefeated Whitehall Vikings at 7:00 on Wednesday night.
