Spring Lake Girls Varsity vs WEST CATHOLIC (37 - 45) Loss Spring Lake travelled to West Catholic Friday night and gave the #2 ranked team in Division 2 a scare before falling 37-45. The Falcons took an early lead behind seven three points in the first half to take a 28-18 advantage into halftime. But the Lakers came out of the locker room and locked down on defense allowing only a single 3 pointer in the 3rd quarter. The Lakers entered the 4th quarter down 26-31, but battled to take a 33-31 lead with just over 4 minutes to play. The Falcons took the lead back with their 9th and final 3 of the night, and the Lakers were unable to get back on top. Free throws down the stretch by West Catholic sealed the final margin of victory. Spring Lake was led by Ella Andree with 17 points. Ellie Wrona had 8 points, while Alexa Carter added 7 points, and Tessa Britt had 4 points. Breanna Kirby added a great effort with 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. West Catholic 17-1 overall (11-0 OK Blue) was led by Reese Polenga with 18 points and Elisha Dykstra with 15 points. Spring Lake falls to 12-6 overall (7-5 OK Blue).
