23-24 Spring Lake HS Boys Swim Team Meet Report 2-6-24 Spring Lake Holland Chr (D3 #3) 110.5 Spring Lake (D3 #10) 72.5 Spring Lake Record (Overall 7-4 OK Rainbow 3-2) In a great battle between two great D3 State Ranked Teams Senior Night came up short #3 State Ranked Holland Christian 110.5-72.5. Despite coming up short the 10th Ranked Lakers took it to the Marrons and swam to 25 Personal Record Swims, 3 First Place Finishes, and two new D3 State Cuts. The swim meet saw a lot of great close races and a lot of season and personal record times. The Lakers were led by Senior Captain Johnny Wachter winning both the 50 Free (21.96) and 100 Free (49.12). Also taking home a win was Noah Fletcher in the 500 Free (5:13.17). Congratulations to D3 State Meet Qualifiers Ryan Fisher 100 Back 57.84 and Tyler Nutt 100 Back 59.27. The Senior led 200 Medley Relay of Kyle Eacker-Nathan Navarre-Johnny Wachter-Ryan Bonney took second with a time of 1:48.40. The Lakers used their Team depth finishing many times with 2-3-4 finishes. What made this such a special and great swim meet this late in the season was the TEAM was swimming tough and through tiredness and soreness for each other. The guys swam with a lot of heart and pride in each race. Never once did I see them back down from a tough race. Tonight’s meet gave a great motivation going into our last dual swim meet with Hamilton next week before the OK Rainbow T1 Conference meet in two weeks. A Huge Thank You to all our great Lakers Swim Parents and Family members on a great Senior Celebration and to the Laker Swimmers /Divers for another great job on the Team Fundraiser which helps give back to the community! This year the Team earned $4,500 with the Chuck-A Duck Fundraiser which helps support one of the wonderful Swim moms currently battling cancer. Thank you everyone for your help and support.
