The Spring Lake Lakers traveled to Grandville to take on not only one of the tallest teams in West Michigan but one of the best teams in West Michigan falling 58-40. The Bulldogs boast a starting line up centering around 6'9 Grand Valley University commit Cameron Regnerus followed by players who are 6'6, 6'6, 6'4 and 6'0 to round out the first five. Ironically enough, it was not the Granville size that dominated early, but the Bulldog three point shooting that helped them race out to a 15-0 lead, Grandville would make nine three pointers in the first half and fourteen for the game. The Lakers trailed by as many as 24 points at one point before trimming the deficit to 13 points with four minutes to play. "I was so proud of the way we clawed back and made it a little interesting for a minute. Many teams would have buckled under after the big first half deficit, but not us, and not tonight". Said Head coach Bill Core. Zach Schlepp led the Laker offense with 12 points followed by Eli Morrison with 9 and Colin Burt with 8. "I thought Burt, Ryan Grimm and Ethan Lisman really battled with their big center tonight, he finished with 9 hard fought points and earned every one of them".
