Goosen Claims Top-Three Finish as Lady Lakers Open Conference Play The Spring Lake girls cross country team opened conference competition at the first of three league jamborees, taking 5th place in a packed team race with 95 points. The Lakers finished just four points behind 4th-place Holland (91) and eight points back of 3rd-place Zeeland West (87) in a tightly contested middle group, while Holland Christian claimed top team honors with 32 points. Freshman Evelyn Goosen led the way for Spring Lake once again, storming to a 3rd-place overall finish with a time of 19:18.1. Senior Cora Parker secured a top-20 spot by placing 16th in 20:50.0, while freshman Abigail Cooper ran strong right behind her to take 21st in 21:09.5. Sophomore Charly Braidwood (29th, 21:53.6) and junior Briella Kohley (35th, 22:17.2) rounded out the scoring group for the Lakers.
