Lady Lakers Take Second Place at Sparta Invitational The Spring Lake girls cross country team delivered a strong team performance on Saturday at the Sparta Invitational, claiming a runner-up finish in the women's varsity division. The Lakers compiled 61 points to secure second place behind meet champion Coopersville (41 points) while edging out Peregrine (66 points) and host Sparta (74 points). Freshman Evelyn Goosen led the charge for Spring Lake, taking 3rd overall with a time of 18:51.88. Senior Cora Parker secured a top-10 finish, crossing the line 8th in 20:19.10. Sophomore Charly Braidwood grabbed 13th place in 21:04.30, while sophomore Hazel Cherney (17th, 22:12.39 - SB) and junior Briella Kohley (20th, 22:22.51) rounded out the top five scoring group to seal the podium finish.
