On August 29th, Big Rapids (7-3) defeated Spring Lake (2-3-2) by a 7-1 score, with the visitors taking control by sweeping all four doubles matches. Big Rapids also won three of the four completed singles flights to make the margin comfortable. At No. 2 singles, Big Rapids’ Carter Smalley held off Spring Lake’s James Priddy 7-5, 6-1, a tight opening set before Smalley pulled away. Ryder Lacourse followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, and Andrew Hinkley was even more dominant at No. 4 singles, beating Carson Maloney 6-0, 6-1. The only Spring Lake point came at No. 1 singles, where Alex Dull earned a victory. In doubles, Jude Trouba and Logan Tingley led the way with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1, while Big Rapids’ other three teams finished the sweep with straight-set victories.
