On August 18th, Grand Rapids South Christian (16-4) defeated Spring Lake (4-12-1) by an 8-0 score, completing a clean sweep and continuing a strong run late in the season. South Christian controlled the match from the start, and the doubles lineup was especially dominant. Joe Maas opened the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Spring Lake’s Alex Dull at No. 1 singles, while Jonah Brieve followed with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles. Gavin Griffen added a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 3 singles, and James Teitsma finished the singles sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 result over Owen Thom at No. 4. South Christian then finished the job in doubles, where Mason Rozema and Grayson Stulp won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 and Seth Spronk and Zac Lummen blanked Caleb Cress and Colin Barendse 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Graham DeMots and Nolan Feyen earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3, and Brayden Teitsma and Nathan Marcusse closed out the sweep with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 4. The 8-0 result gave South Christian another emphatic dual-meet win as it moved deeper into the season.
