This was a great match up for our team tonight as HC plays a style much like ours. It was a physical first half, and our girls battled well. Second half we came out with a different game plan and the girls executed it very well. Addie Schmidt was solid in goal for us tonight, recording another shutout. Our defense and midfielders connected well, and we were able to find a few great offensive opportunities as well. Our goal tonight came in the second half. Harper Bultema (9), played a perfect through ball to Ainsley Buhr (10) who ran onto it and broke through 2 defenders to goal. Ainsley unselfishly found Sammy Laughlin's (9) feet wide open on the back side of the goal for a great finish with 14:15 left in the second half, helping us to win 1-0. Our 3 defenders (Emma Canale (10), Betsy Bulthouse (9), and Ayla Jonker (9) ) took some hard hits tonight, but were solid in keeping them away from our goal to help us keep the lead.
