In a doubleheader battle of state ranked teams, the Spring Lake Lakers took game one with a 4-0 victory. Spring Lake ranked #7 and East Grand Rapids ranked #4. Maddux Kipling was the winning pitcher with a dominating performance. Kipling threw a complete game shutout allowing 1 hit and striking out 12. Senior twins, Oliver and Owen Smies each collected two hits, while Alex Strauss had two RBI's. The Pioneers took game two of the doubleheader defeating the Lakers 4-2. Ryan Fine took the loss but threw a nice game as Spring Lake missed some scoring opportunities with runners in scoring position. Alex Strauss led the Laker offense with two hits and an RBI.
