Varsity vs Grand Ledge High School (17 - 5) Win The Lady Lakers varsity lacrosse team traveled to Grand Ledge on Friday and came away with a 17-5 victory. The Lakers were tested by a very determined Grand Ledge team but the Lakers won with balanced scoring and very tough defense. Leading the Lakers in scoring was Micah Gawronski with 6 goals and 4 assists. Charlotte Murphy chipped in with 2 goals and a career high 5 assists. Sierra Lukas added 2 goals while Calla Barber, Abbey Rogalski, Ava Cabala, Lexi Baker, Mallory Martinez, Brooke Stephenson and Ava Lisman added single goals. The Lakers got great team defense from all 7 defenders, but Addison Baker, Emily Riemersma, Charlie VanHarken and Chloe Dekkinga all had game changing plays. Elena Robinson also stood out in goal, allowing just 5 shots to hit the net. Next up for the Lakers is a home contest against Grand Rapids Catholic Central on Monday.
