Varsity vs FOREST HILLS CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL (9 - 8) Win Strong defense and a never die attitude allowed the Lakers to pull out a dramatic 9-8 victory over Forest Hills Central on Wednesday night. Spring Lake started slow and the Rangers took full advantage of that and led 5-1 after the first quarter. A stifling defense held the Rangers to just 3 goals the rest of the way. Leading the Lakers in scoring was Micah Gawronski with 2 goals and 3 assists. Calla Barber and Charlotte Murphy each added 2 goals while Aubrey Llewellyn added a goal and an assist. Llewellyn's goal was the game winner. Abbey Rogalski and Sierra Lukas added single goals each and Addy Laug and Ava Cabala contributed an assist. Elena Robinson was strong in goal with 9 saves. Brooke Stevenson was also strong on the draw with 6 controls. Next up for the Lakers is a road contest against Rockford on Friday. Game starts at 7pm.
