Varsity vs Catholic Central High School (12 - 11) Win The Lady Laker girls varsity lacrosse team improved their record to 3-2 with a comeback road victory over the Cougars from Grand Rapids Catholic Central on Monday evening. In what was a back and forth contest that was tied 10-10 after 4 quarters, the Lakers showed their grit in overtime, outscoring the Cougars 2 to 1 in the overtime periods. Brooke Stephenson was a absolute beast on the draw, winning 11 draw controls. Leading the Lakers in scoring was Micah Gawronski with 4 goals and 6 assists. Aubrey Llewellyn added 3 goals while Charlotte Murphy and Ava Lisman each added 2 goals. Addy Laug added a goal and an assist while Mallory Martinez and Calla Barber each chipped in with an assist. On defense the Lakers were led by Charlie VanHarken and Emily Riemersma, and Elena Robinson was stellar in goal saving 7 shots. Next up for the Lakers is a road contest at Grand Haven on Wednesday. Game time is 7pm.
