Varsity vs WEST CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL (38 - 47) Loss Spring Lake Lakers took West Catholic down to the wire Tuesday night battling until the final minutes before falling 47-38. West Catholic took an early edge in the first quarter, leading 13-6, but the Lakers responded in the second. Spring Lake settled in defensively, found better rhythm offensively, and cut the deficit to 24-19 by halftime. The third quarter was a defensive grind, with both teams scoring just six points. Every possession mattered, and the intensity on both ends of the floor set up a dramatic finish. In the fourth, it was a back and forth fight. The score was tied with five minutes to play and the atmosphere felt like a playoff game. West Catholic managed to regain the lead in the closing minutes, and despite Spring Lake's late fouls to extend the game, the Falcons converted at the free throw line to seal the 47-38 win. The Lakers were led in scoring by Kloe George with 12 points, Abbey Rogalski with 8, Lexi Baker with 7, and Alex Botbyl with 6 points. The Lakers now turn their focus to their final regular season matchup Thursday night against the Coopersville Broncos, looking to finish strong before postseason play begins.
