Freshman vs ALLENDALE HIGH SCHOOL (42 - 35) Win The Lady Laker freshman basketball team opened up the season with a 42-35 road victory over the Allendale Falcons on Monday evening. The Lakers played a well rounded game with all 11 players contributing in some way. Leading the Lakers in scoring was Izzy Christian with 12 points and a couple key free throws to clinch the victory. AnnaLee Zimmer and Henley Jonker each also added 10 points. Sierra Lukas chipped in with 6 points and played outstanding defense. Jonker led the team with 10 rebounds while Zimmer also added 6 rebounds. Kenz Jones and Ava Cabala each had 3 steals to lead the team in that category. Ashley Britton added 4 points and played great post defense against the Falcons. Ava Martin, Anja Gesell and Kira Pietsch each also added some much needed defense off the bench. Next up for the Lakers is a home game against Big Rapids on Tuesday December 16. Tip off is at 4pm.
